An estimated audience of 500 people enjoyed the first "Global Citizenship Music Festival" a free event open to the entire community The event was presented by ATEG in partnership with Faith Connection.
The Festival presented music from many cultures, with performances by local artists, church choirs and musicians bringing their talents to New Bern from Africa, Asia and South America. The theme running throughout this inspiring program is brotherhood. People from all backgrounds in our community gathered to sing together, they experienced our shared humanity and role as global citizens. Music has the power to bring people together and bridge cultural divides in a way that very few things can. It has the ability to transcend language barriers and connect people from different backgrounds and cultures through a universal language. The event concluded with everyone joining to sing We Are the World.
